Antibacterial.ai privacy policy

Written to be read. If anything here is unclear, email privacy@antibacterial.ai and we will explain it in plain language and, where the policy is the problem, fix the policy.

Who runs this site

This site and the Antibacterial service are operated under the Antibacterial brand at antibacterial.ai. Contact is by email at privacy@antibacterial.ai. We are the controller of the personal data described below.

What we collect

Your email address, when you create an account. This is the only field we require.
An optional note, if you answer the "what are you screening?" line during signup.
Signup context: which button opened the signup, any campaign parameters in the link you arrived on, your IP address and your browser user agent. We use this to understand which pages produce real interest.
Screens you run: the compound text, the panel and the options you chose, and the result that came back.
Basic server logs, kept for security and debugging.

We do not ask for your name, your employer, a phone number or a payment card on this site. There is no contact form, so nothing is collected that way either.

Compounds and structures

This is the part that matters most to a chemistry team, so it is stated separately and without hedging:

Structures you submit are used to answer your screen and for nothing else.
They are never used to train, fine tune or evaluate any model.
They are never shared with other customers and are not pooled into any shared dataset.
They are deletable on request. Email us and they go, along with the results.

To produce a prediction, the text of your submission is sent to the model provider that runs the prediction, under terms that prohibit using it for training. If your work cannot leave your own environment at all, that is what private and VPC deployment on the Enterprise plan exists for.

Why we process it

To provide the service: running a screen, returning a result, letting you sign in.
To confirm your email, using a one time code, so an address cannot be signed up by someone else.
To keep the service usable: rate limiting, abuse prevention, security logging.
To understand demand: which pages and which plans produce confirmed signups, in aggregate.

The legal bases are performance of a contract with you, and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the service. Where consent is required, we ask for it and you can withdraw it.

A small number of processors, each doing one job: hosting and infrastructure, email delivery for the confirmation code, and the model provider that generates the prediction. We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not run third party advertising or tracking scripts on this site.

How long we keep it

Account email and signup context: while the account exists, then removed on request.
Screens and results: while they are useful to you, and removed on request.
Server logs: a short rolling window for security and debugging.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to processing based on legitimate interest, or ask for it in a portable format. Email privacy@antibacterial.ai and we will action it. We do not require a particular form of words and we will not put you through a queue.

Cookies

We use a session cookie so the site works, and a security token cookie to protect form submissions. The demo counts your screens for the session so the limit can be enforced. There are no advertising cookies, no cross site trackers and no third party analytics pixels.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will update the date at the top and, for material changes, email account holders. We will not quietly widen what we do with submitted structures. That commitment is also written into the terms.
